Nova Bus takes AMETVS’ “Large Company of the Year” Améthyste Award
Saint-Eustache, Quebec, November 26, 2007 — Nova Bus was awarded the “Large Company of the Year” prize last Thursday in Trois-Rivières, during the Améthyste gala that marked the close of the Specialty Vehicle and Transportation Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (AMETVS) 7th annual conference.
With its 300 members, AMETVS is the leading association for Quebec’s land vehicle manufacturing industry. The “Large Company of the Year” Améthyste award is given to a company for its outstanding investments, growth, industrial outreach or business practices; it is granted by a selection committee, comprised of the conference’s consultation committee members. This year, the other nominees were Paccar of Canada, Sigma Ventures Inc. and Sixpro Inc.
The cornerstone of Nova Bus’ success undoubtedly lies in its unique, double-edged corporate culture, which focuses on Nova Bus colleague contribution and teamwork, as well as on the company’s unparalleled commitment to customer culture, which translates into long-term client partnerships.
It’s a recipe for success: Nova Bus’ growth has been strong, notably through the expansion of its product range and most recently with the introduction of the Nova LFS Artic articulated vehicle. This growth has a significant economic impact – the partnerships Nova Bus has with nearly 120 Quebec suppliers are estimated at $45 million annually. Within the company, the Nova Bus team has grown by nearly 170 new colleagues over the course of 2007.
Nova Bus is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volvo Bus Corporation, the world’s second largest motor coach and transit bus manufacturing group. Nova Bus is a leading manufacturer of city, suburban, and shuttle buses in North America, with its Nova LFS, Nova LFS HEV and Nova LFS Artic vehicles. Nova Bus is the first North American heavy-duty bus manufacturer in the urban transportation sector to achieve company-wide ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. The company operates two plants in Canada.
