Nova Bus’ US plant: construction complete
Saint-Eustache (Quebec), April 7, 2009 — Nova Bus is proud to announce that the construction phase of its newest bus assembly plant, located in Plattsburgh, New York, is complete. The official plant inauguration ceremony is planned for late spring.
Gilles Gervais, Vice President of Operations for Nova Bus, is pleased with the progress made, saying, “We are happy to see the building finished and the assembly line built with world-class manufacturing equipment. It represents the latest concrete manifestation of Nova Bus’ commitment to its North American clientele. We are putting everything forward to be ready to meet the needs and requirements of our business partners, whether in terms of short delivery lead times and quality.”
The first laydown in the plant took place in late March and a 90-day period is scheduled to ensure proper plant ramp up. By the end of 2009, the daily production rate will be of 2 vehicles per day. Nova Bus is ready to meet the levels of service and care which its business partners have come to expect. The first customer deliveries will take place in the fall.
