Dear NovaFlash readers,

The CUTA Fall Conference and Trans-Expo in Niagara Falls, Ontario, concludes another great trade show season for us. As the year winds down, I’m taking a look back to recognize and highlight some of our most recent successes.

2014 was indeed a very special year for Nova Bus as we celebrated the 35th anniversary of our St-Eustache plant. For more than three decades, our team has been dedicated to building the future of public transit in partnership with cities across the continent.

Nova Bus' new sustainable mobility solution, the LFS HEV with the latest BAE hybrid technology, was successfully tested in service in partnership with transit authority STS in Saguenay earlier this year. This new technology is now hitting the streets of ATUQ transit authority cities, offering a greener alternative to Quebec transit users.

2014 once again consolidates Nova Bus’ position as the leading transit bus manufacturer in Canada. We proudly renewed our partnership with Toronto Transit Commission for 55 buses and celebrated a major agreement with Metrolinx, who manages the contract for 180 buses for 13 municipalities in Ontario. We entered into an important contract with British Columbia’s crown agency, BC Transit, for 200 buses. We also delivered buses to cities including Brampton, Brantford, Fredericton, Gatineau, Laval, Lévis, Longueuil, Red Deer, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John and Woodstock.

Last month, Nova Bus showcased its innovative Electro Mobility solution, including the Nova LFSe 100% electric bus with en-route fast-charging system by Siemens, at the APTA Expo in Houston, TX. We also displayed our LFS Natural Gas vehicle, which will soon run in Hamilton, Ontario, and the Buffalo Niagara region in New York State.

Finally, new synergies within the Volvo Group, including the expansion of our Plattsburgh, NY, plant to add an assembly line dedicated to the Prevost X3-45 Commuter Coach recently launched in America, confirms our continued growth in the US market.

Nova Bus is a proud partner of Niagara Falls Transit and The Niagara Parks Commission. Last year, our team completed the delivery of a mixed order including 40-foot Nova LFS and LFS Artic buses. For those attending the CUTA Conference and Trans-Expo, I would like to invite you to visit our booth where we will display one of Niagara Falls Transit’s latest Nova LFS buses.

Welcome to Niagara Falls!
